Pinch Of Nom Paella

Woop! It’s that time again. Another week, another Weekly Pinch of Shopping and we’ve got some dynamite for you – Dynamite Chilli Marmite, that is. The divisive condiment is back with a bang in it, and we’ve got fiery recipes for you that’ll even win marmite haters over.

We’ve also dropped in a reminder of this fortnight’s Super 6. Every fortnight Aldi discounts a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, so we’re giving you the rundown of last week’s selection.

Salted caramel and strawberry are the only options available in the big pot range so far, but there are other flavours in lunchbox friendly four-packs if you’d prefer to take your yoghurt on the go.

Healthy Spanish Chicken Recipe

We like that this Gut Glory Big Pot is such great value for money; from the point you’ve enjoyed your first spoonful, you’ll still have a few days where you can keep it handy in the fridge. SO convenient when you’ve got a sweet craving!

Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs are a cheap and cheerful plant-based meatball alternative available from Aldi. With a bag of these handy in the freezer, you’ll be part of the way towards a slimming friendly meal.

Suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets, these well-seasoned meatballs are super high in protein, so they’ll top up your energy levels after a long day. It doesn’t hurt that they’re really easy to bung in the oven and combine with a tasty, low calorie sauce.

Easy One Pot Chicken And Chorizo Paella

You can make our Cheesy Mac n Meatballs veggie friendly by using Plant Menu No Meat Meatballs as a mince substitute (just be sure to adjust the calories accordingly).

We love this recipe because it has all the makings of being indulgent (it’s a cheese lover’s dream!) without the calories. The secret is a rich, creamy sauce you’d never be able to tell is mostly made with veggies.

Another one for the cheese lovers, these GoVeggie Green Vegetable, Cheese & Pesto Sausages sound so delicious! Using mushrooms and other veggies instead of meat, they’re also seasoned with a dreamy combo of cheddar cheese, garlic, pine nuts, and basil pesto.

Slimming World Paella With Chicken & Chorizo

Did someone say (aromatic) bangers and mash? Yep! You could serve these pesto laden sausages with our Creamy Mashed Potatoes for a tasty midweek dinner.

Marmite’s distinctive savoury flavour is divisive on a normal day, so we couldn’t resist including this brand-new Marmite Yeast Extract in Dynamite Chilli in our Weekly Pinch of Shopping.

We think this spicy edition could convert some haters – with heavy hints of chilli, the intense umami flavour is met with a fiery kick. Whether you love it, hate it, or haven’t even tried it, marmite is a solid source of B vitamins, so it’s a healthy option to enjoy on a slice of wholemeal toast.

Why not swap out the traditional marmite for Dynamite Chilli in our Marmite Mushrooms on Toast recipe and start your day with a bang?

It’s an Everyday Light breakfast that’s super easy to make, so you can begin the day with lots of flavour and no fussing about.

If you’re on the lookout for a tasty oven-baked snack this week, why not pick up a bag of Olly’s Pretzels Thins Multi-seed Sesame? These tasty grab bags are low in calories and much lower in fat than standard crisps.

Rhabarber Auflauf Mit Quark

They’re an enjoyable snack on their own, but we think they were made to be dipped. The nutty sesame seeds would go perfectly with our low calorie Hummus Style Dip – you could even add a drizzle of hot sauce if you fancy the heat.

We love anything that makes life that little bit easier! Lidl’s Chef Select Chicken, King Prawn and Chorizo Paella is a super easy grab and go lunch that’s only 398 calories per pot – so there’s no fussing with meal prep.

Much lower in sugar and fat than the traditional Spanish dish, this light and affordable lunch will taste like a holiday – especially if you add a squirt of lemon juice.

Speaking of a holiday, our Garlic Chilli Prawns taste just like sitting on a sun-soaked seafront. And you can have them prepped and ready in less than 20 minutes! You’ll need a wholemeal bread roll handy to mop up any leftover juices.

From one grab and go lunch to another, this Plot 9 Thai Chickpea Curry with Aromatic Rice is a little lighter and seafood free.

There are a handful of veggie pot varieties you can choose from in the same range, including a Chipotle Bean Chilli and Rich Lentil Bolognese. We’ve gone with the Thai pot because it’s got plenty of fibrous chickpeas in it, so it’ll be a super filling midday boost.

Chicken And Chorizo Jambalaya: A Perfect Easy Dinner!

If you love aromatic Thai flavours, you’ll enjoy our refreshing Chopped Thai Chicken Salad . With lots of fresh veggies and sweet, juicy pineapple, it’ll excite your taste buds and add colour to your day.

Made from oats instead of cow’s milk, oat milk is low in saturated fat and enriched with vitamins. Sweet and refreshing, you’ll want to enjoy this one in a tall glass with a sugary treat.

We think banana bread would be the perfect accompaniment. You can save yourself the calories of a shop-bought version by baking our Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips recipe.

Pressure Cooker Veal Shanks With Mushrooms & Gravy

Calling all dark chocolate lovers! Cadbury’s have introduced a rich, dark chocolate variety to their brunch bar range. Dark chocolate is lower in sugar than milk chocolate, so it’s a slightly healthier choice.

Made with dark chocolate chips, filling oats and drizzled in honey, Cadbury Bournville Brunch Bars provide a delicious bite when you’re in need of a sweet treat, and for only 136 calories per bar.

Our Chocolate Mud Pie has all the flavours of dark chocolate, with an oaty topping that gives it a delectable crunch. You won’t believe it’s low in calories!

Chicken And Prawn Creole

We love how simple it is to make, and you can balance out the depth of the dark chocolate and coffee flavours by serving alongside fresh strawberries.

Pesto

Eek! We can’t wait to have Mary back on our screens next week with Great British Bake Off 2021 – to keep you going until then, we’ve picked out a zesty Mary Lemon Bundt Cake.

Mary’s done all the work here, so there’s no GBBO tent level pressure. Simply pop the kettle on, settle down and enjoy a slice with a cuppa.
